How to get
By plane
There are four daily JR buses from the airport Kobe to Naruto (2 hours 45 minutes, ¥ 2950).
On the train
Naruto has a train station, but it is inconvenient for rail traffic from other major cities. Even within Shikoku, trains are scarce, around one per hour, so the quickest and most direct way to get to Naruto is to take a bus from Kansai across the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge.
By bus
JR Bus operates the buses Awa Express daytime between Kansai is Tokushima, stopping along the road a Kōsoku Naruto (高速 鳴 門), a bus stop along the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto highway. Buses connect to JR station Osaka every 30-60 minutes throughout the day, with separate runs operating to / from Kobe once an hour (including the Shin-Kobe station on the Shinkansen) and to / from Kyoto seven times a day. The one-way fare to Kōsoku Naruto is ¥ 3750 from Kyoto (2 hours 20 mins), ¥ 3150 from Osaka (2 hours 10 minutes) and ¥ 2750 from Kobe (1 hour 35 mins). Once you arrive, you can connect to a city bus that will take you into the city (09: 00-11: 30, 14: 00-16: 30 every day), or you can walk five minutes to the Ko-Naruto-Bashi (小 鳴 門橋) bus stop where you can take multiple buses. You can also walk to JR Naruto train station in about 15 minutes.
From major cities located near the Shinkansen (such as Tokyo, Nagoya, Hiroshima is Fukuoka), the best way to get to Naruto is to take a Shinkansen train to Shin-Kobe and transfer to the Awa Express bus. Even if you have a Japan Rail Pass, the Awa Express bus from Shin-Kobe, which is not covered by the pass, is a wise investment for ¥ 2750. Or, continue on to Okayama, where you will have to change to three other trains and add another 1-2 hours of travel.
Seats for JR Awa Express buses can be reserved at the venues Midori-no-Madoguchi of the main JR train stations.
JR's night bus service Dream Tokushima from Tokyo it also stops at Kōsoku Naruto (9 hours, ¥ 9800).
