Geographical notes
Nebbiuno is made up of a series of hamlets, Fosseno, Tapigliano, Corciago and Campiglia. The territory is largely hilly. The center of Nebbiuno is located at an altitude of 430 m. The major waterways of Nebbiuno are the Tiasca and Rio Colorio streams. The buildings of interest are typically the sacred ones: the Church of Sant'Agata in Fosseno and that of San Leonardo in Tapigliano. The altitude of the territory is between 922 m of Monte Cornaggia and 340 m of the woods that descend towards Meina and Lake Maggiore.
Background
Although the documented history of Nebbiuno began in 1306 with a document confirming its ownership by the monastery of San Gallo in Massino Visconti, traces of the probable passage of Celts and a subsequent settlement of populations such as Ligurians, Gauls, were found. Insubri and Leponzi. The latter were driven out by Vergante by the Emperor Augustus in the 1st century BC.
