Trøndelag is a region of the Norway.
To know
The life of the region takes place for the most part in Trondheim, an important center in the whole country, in particular for culture, theater and music.
Background
This area has been inhabited for thousands of years but the Viking period is the period of greatest importance. At this time the area was divided into small territories comparable to fiefdoms where however there was a primitive form of democracy. This lasted until 1030 when its role in Norwegian activity dropped slightly. In 1658, with the treaty of Roskilde, the region was ceded to the Sweden, but two years later, with the treaty of Copenhagen, was returned to the Kingdom of Denmark-Norway.
In 1804 the region was divided into North and South.
