Geographical notes
It is located in the county of Sør-Trøndelag, within the central region of Gauldalen. The coldest temperature measured in Røros is -50.4 ° C on January 13, 1914. This is the lowest temperature measured in the southern part of Norway, making it one of the coldest places in the country.
Background
The origins of the city date back to the year 1530 when it was built on the land of the Røraas farm, from which it took its name. Built entirely of wood, it is known as "the city of copper", since the extraction of the mineral was the main occupation of those who lived there until 1977, the date of closure of the mining activity.

On the train

By bus

- 1 Røros Church (Bergstadens Ziir). The church is one of the symbols of Røros, unique in the area for its shape and decoration. - Femundlopet (from January 30th to February 4th). The longest sled dog competition in Europe, which attracts fans from all over the world every year.
