Nowa Wieś Królewska is located on the Września Plain (315.56), a physical and geographic mesoregion in the central-west Poland, constituting the southern part of the Greater Poland Lake District.

  • Church of st. Andrew the Apostle - a historic Roman Catholic parish church in Nowa Wieś Królewska, in the district of Września, in the Greater Poland Voivodeship.

History

The temple was most probably funded by the royal treasury and was built in the years from around 1550 to around 1580. Although it is situated in the center of Wielkopolska, the building has the characteristics of Małopolska wooden churches.

The church was restored in the 1970s, and another one in 1988.

Construction

The church has a shingled roof, it is a carcass construction, and from the outside, you can see the formwork. The tower was not originally planned, but was added. It has a pyramidal roof. The chancel is closed on three sides. On the walls there are fragments of polychrome from the second half of the 16th century. There is a fragment of the saint's figure there. Most of the elements in the church come from around 1640. On the main altar there is a sculpture of St. Anna. On the beam you can see a passion group with Jesus Christ, Our Lady of Sorrows, St. John the Evangelist, St. Maria Magdalena and two soldiers.
