History

  • The first mention of Fr. Vineus Mons (Winna Góra) dates back to 1246, when prince Bolesław the Pious granted the village to the bishop of Poznań, Boguchwał. In 1331 the village was ravaged by Teutonic Knights.
  • Winna Góra remained in the possession of the bishops of Poznań until 1796, when the Prussian government carried out the dissolution of church properties. .

From 1963, it was owned by the Poznań Institute of Plant Protection, which has an experimental facility in the village. In the years 2003-2018, it was leased to the private hands of a local entrepreneur. From 1987, there was a small exhibition in the palace devoted to General Dąbrowski. From October 10, 2018, a branch is located in the palace in Winna Góra Museum of the landed gentry in Dobrzyca. In the interiors of the residence, associated primarily with the general Jan Henryk Dąbrowski, there are memorabilia of the creator of the Polish Legions in Italy. He is a leading figure in the program of the new museum. It is also planned to open an exhibition devoted to the most distinguished inhabitants of Wielkopolska. The museum will also present another outstanding figure related to the legionary deed - the creator of "Mazurka Dąbrowski", who closely cooperates with Dąbrowski. Józef Wybicki. Dąbrowski and a neo-Gothic monument from the first half of the Nineteenth century on the island of a small pond, with an urn with the heart of Lt. Stanisław Chłapowski, former adjutant of the general and brother of his wife Barbara.

  • On part of the village, on a low hill, late baroque church of st. Michael the Archangel from 1766, extended in 1912 with a neo-baroque presbytery and a spacious transept. In the main altar from the end of the 18th century there is a painting of the Mother of God with the Child from the second half of the 18th century. 16th century, in a silver baroque dress.
  • Six-sided at the nave tomb chapel of General J. H. Dąbrowski, added in 1863 - originally neo-Gothic, according to a design by Seweryn Mielżyński from 1863, in 1912 rebuilt into a neo-baroque one. Inside, a neoclassical general's sarcophagus from 1863, modeled on the Roman sarcophagus of Scipio African Elder.
