Náchod

Náchod - the city in the northern part Of the Czech Republic, on the river Metuje. Lies in Hradec Králové country, in the territorial district East Bohemia. Headquarters Náchod County.

Characteristic

It was founded in the first half of the 13th century by the knight Hron of the Načeradice family. The first records of the city come from 1254.

From 1601 Náchod owned the Słone estate (arable fields, meadows and forests), which, despite being separated by the border after the Silesian Wars, was still used by the town. This state of affairs was put to an end by World War II and the incorporation of the former property into Poland.

The final train station is located here. During World War II there was an extension of the line to Kudowa-Zdrój.

By car

Náchod is an important road junction. There was a Polish-Czech road border crossing Kudowa-Słone - Náchod, which was closed after the Czech Republic entered the Schengen Area.
