- 1 St. John's Church, Johannisstrasse. Brick building from 1156.
- Museumshof Oldenburg (Wall Museum). The museum is located on an artificial island in a lake. The national museum shows an exhibition on the history of the Slavs in Holstein. Furthermore, the life of the Slavs in the Middle Ages is discussed.

There are plenty of supermarkets (2x Aldi, Lidl, Famila, Penny, Netto, Edeka), as well as several drug stores (Rossmann, DM). The newly built shopping center on the Schauenburger Platz offers a large Edeka market with an attached bakery and café, one of the Aldi markets, DM, a Deichmann branch and a car rental company as well as the post office. Very well run bookseller "Ton & Text" in the pedestrian zone. There is a larger fashion department store (Johannsen) and several smaller boutiques, as well as several shoe shops.
