THE'Western Newfoundland is a region of Newfoundland and Labrador to Canada.
Understand
Western Newfoundland includes a band of 700 km long on the east coast of the island of Newfoundland of Channel-Port-aux-Basques at the southwest end of the island to L'Anse aux Meadows, the viking site, at the end of the Great Northern Peninsula. The coast is made up of fjords carved out by glaciers.
The region also includes the cradle of the Francophonie in Newfoundland on the Port-au-Port peninsula.
There is a provincial tourist information center at Channel-Port-aux-Basques and to Deer lake.

On a boat
Channel-Port-aux-Basques is connected to North Sydney in New Scotland by a Marine Atlantic ferry. There are also ferries (ferries) connecting Blanc-Sablon to Quebec. Blanc-Sablon then allows you to go to Labrador.
By car
From eastern Newfoundland, the region's road entry route is the Trans-Canada Highway 1. The region is located 600 km road from Saint Jean, the provincial capital.
