Padua is an Italian city, of Veneto.

Understand

Padua is located east of the Po Valley, approximately 10 km north of the Euganean Hills and about 20 km west of the lagoon of Venice. The municipal territory is spread over completely flat spaces and crisscrossed by various waterways which have given shape and protection to the city over the centuries. It is crossed by the Brenta and Bacchiglione rivers.

By plane

The main international airport is Venice. From the airport there are direct buses to Mestre station where you can catch the train to Padua, or buses that leave every half hour to reach Padua bus station.

Not far away is Treviso Airport with several low cost flights. The buses SITA make the connection between the airport and the bus station of Padua at a cost of 4 €. Padua is also equipped with a civilian airport, where only small tourist planes can land.

By train

All trains coming from Milan or Bologna and going to Venice stop in Padua. The station is approximately 15 min walk from the historic center. As in many cities, the parking area is not well marked.

By car

Highway Autostrada A4 Italia.svg serves the city from the north, whether from Turin and of Milan or since Venice and Trieste.

Circulate

Much of the center is a pedestrian zone or a limited traffic area, so the best solution is to get around on foot or by bicycle (available from the station square), as the main tourist attractions are in the historic center . Bus service City Sightseeing is also available for tourists.
