Jasper National Park is a protected area located in Canada.

It is located in the Rocky Mountains in Alberta. It is an internationally renowned destination and one of the national parks most famous of Canada.
Geographical notes
Jasper National Park is one of Canada's most famous and oldest national parks. It is located in the Rocky Mountains and covers an area of over 10,800 km². It protects an important animal and plant biodiversity. It was recognized as a World Heritage Site byUNESCO within the Canadian Rocky Mountain Park.
Numerous waterfalls are present along the park, the most interesting being the Sunwapta and the Athabasca Falls.
Flora and fauna
The fauna, not always easy to spot, includes American black bears, grizzlies, coyotes, wolves, pumas, Canadian lynxes, moose, wapiti, caribou, snow goats, bighorn sheep, mule deer, white-tailed deer, porcupines, beavers , two species of fox, martens, pika, coyote, hoary marmots and wolverines.
Common birds that roam this park are white-headed sea eagles, golden eagles, horned owls, white-tailed ptarmigans, spruce grouse, woodcock, Canadian geese, red-necked grebes and American vespers.

How to get
By plane
The closest airport to the Park is that of Edmonton, 350 km to the east.
By car
Highway 16 (Yellowhead) crosses the park from east to west. Hinton it is located 69 km e Edmonton 350 km to the east; Valemount it is located 110 km to the west. The only other way to access the park by car is via the Icefields Parkway from Lake Louise, south of the park.
On the train
VIA Rail Canada offers a passenger transportation service to the Park from Edmonton and Vancouver. There is also a private tourist train service Rocky Mountaineer.

All visitors who stop in the park must have a parking permit, even if they stop buying gas. However, it is not necessary to have a permit if you only pass through the park on Highway 16 without stopping. Daily and annual passes are available:

The Glacier Road (Icefields Parkway) is a 230 km (140 miles) road from Lake Louise in Banff National Park to Jasper. The road runs parallel to the Continental Division and allows tourists access to the mountains with cars, bicycles and motorbikes. Athabasca and Sunwapta waterfalls are both accessible by road.

Numerous outdoor-related recreational activities, such as hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, rafting, kayaking, and camping. The thermal springs of Miette are located near the north-east entrance of the park and exploit the waters that flow at very high temperatures and which are cooled for thermal use.
