Playa del Inglés is a district of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, and is located in the south of Gran Canaria.
background
The resort Playa del Inglés emerged only after 1962, when the peninsula on the south coast of Gran Canaria under the name Maspalomas Costa Canaria was developed for tourism. This article covers the eastern parts of the peninsula, which is primarily the area covered by the Avenida de Gran Canaria is included and as the center of Playa del Inglés can be viewed, plus the one between the busy street GC-500 and the highway GC-1 lying district San Fernando, in which primarily locals live who work as service staff in the tourist facilities.
