- 1 [link not working]Lucone of Polpenazze (Lucone pile dwelling site in Polpenazze). It is one of the best preserved of the basins that dot the morainic amphitheater of Lake Garda. It is a large basin once occupied by a small body of water. The environmental characteristics mark the area as a precious ecological oasis, while the great abundance of archaeological finds and the quality of the paleoenvironmental data make this locality a site of fundamental importance for the study of Prehistory in northern Italy. Precisely to preserve this site for future generations, in June 2011 the Lucone was included in the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.UNESCO, as part of the transnational serial site "Prehistoric pile dwellings in the Alps". The archaeological finds found at Lucone are kept at the "Museo archeologico della Valle Sabbia" in Gavardo.
