Pottenstein - commune of w Germany, in the federal state Bavaria, in regency Upper Franconia, in the district Bayreuth.
Characteristic
The village is located on the river Püttlachshortly before it flows into the river Wiesentamong the hills Fränkische Schweiz. There is a castle, a church and numerous historic tenement houses here. The city is a resort. However, it is most famous for one of the largest karst caves in Germany, Teufelshöhle. The town also has the Fränkische Schweiz museum and a rock swimming pool. The most famous karst rocks are in the neighboring one Tüchersfeld.
