The poviat is situated in the south-eastern part of the voivodship, in the area of ​​Beskid Mały, Beskid Śląski and Podgórze Cieszyński. The area of ​​the poviat is 458.64 km² and is inhabited by 162,495 inhabitants. The population density is 354 inhabitants per 1 km² (2016).

Bielsko-Biała Eastern Bypass (DK1 road)
