Kutno poviat - poviat in Poland the northernmost district of the Lodz voivodeship, created as part of the administrative reform in 1999. The seat of the poviat is Kutno(geographical coordinates 52 ° 13'51.82 ″ N 19 ° 21'51.63 ″ E; 20 km north-west of the geometric center of Poland).
The Kutno poviat is situated at the crossroads of important road and rail routes.
Dear Two national roads run through Kutno and the poviat: national road No. 92, which is a free alternative to the A2 motorway, connecting Rzepin With Warsaw and national road No. 60 connecting Kutno with Płock and Ostrów Mazowiecka, constituting a transit corridor for TIRs from the Baltic States to German.
Both national roads running through the city are routed by ring roads, which facilitates transit transport and reduces road traffic in the center of Kutno.

The A1 motorway runs through the poviat, 2 km from Kutno. Kutno is served by exits from A1 in Kotliska - junction Kutno-East and Jay Kutno-North.

Rail its history dates back to 1861. At that time, a railway station on the line of the Warsaw-Bydgoszcz Railway was built, which still functions and continues to perform its functions.
Further, intensive development of the railway took place during the interwar period. In the years 1922–1926, connections between Kutno and Cognition (thus the construction of the Warsaw-Poznań railway line was completed), Łódź and Płock. A steam engine house and repair plants were also built. The railway route leading through Kutno connects Berlin With Moscow, Gdansk With Katowice, Poznań with Warsaw, Bydgoszcz With Lublin.

The poviat has an area of ​​886.86 km², which constitutes 4.87% of the voivodship's area.

Located in the center of Poland, on the Kutno Plain and Wysoczyzna Włodawa, on the border of geographical and historical regions (Mazowsze, Kujawy, Ziemia Łęczycka and Greater Poland). Its capital is Kutno, and the territory covers 11 municipalities - the municipal Kutno, the municipal and rural Krośniewice and Żychlin, and the rural Bedlno, Dąbrowice, Krzyżanów, Kutno, Łanięta, Nowe Ostrowy, Oporów, and Strzelce.

The area of ​​the poviat is agricultural and industrial. Wheat, sugar beet, maize and rape are successful in the local fertile black soil and brown soil, and numerous orchards are visible in the landscape.
The region is also known for many large companies which, due to their location at the junction of trans-European communication routes, are eager to invest here. There is an Agro-Industrial Park in Kutno. There is also the Kutno subzone of the Łódź Special Economic Zone.

Nature is protected in forest reserves, all located in the Nowe Ostrowy commune. "Dąbrowa Świetlista" with the area of 40.13 ha, is protected by the natural luminous oak forest complex, which consists of a stand of sessile oak aged about 90–120 years. "Ostrowy" with an area of 14.37 ha, in which the low-hornbeam old forest with a large share of small-leaved linden and field maple is protected. There are many species of herbaceous plants and mosses in the undergrowth. "Ostrowy-Bażantarnia" with the area of 28.58 ha, protecting a multi-species deciduous forest with a fragment of old oak trees (the oldest specimens are 170 years old) of natural character; very rich undergrowth: approx. 70 species of herbaceous plants and 20 species of bryophytes. "Perna"in which, on an area of ​​15.75 ha, the protection of deciduous oak-hornbeam forest with a natural character, varied forest stand with a rich undergrowth: about 50 species of plants and bryophytes, including rare and protected species, such as the white sandstone and helleborine.

Although the Kutno region is one of the least forested regions of the country, due to the large number of various monuments (including many well-preserved manors), it is an excellent area for tourism and sightseeing.
Tourist transport is carried out by the Krośniewicka Narrow-Gauge Railway (Access).
