Wągrowiec County - poviat in Poland, in Greater Poland Voivodeship, created in 1999 as part of an administrative reform. Its seat is in the city Wągrowiec.

The poviat has an area of ​​1 040.8 km², it is inhabited by 67 460 inhabitants (in cities 31 721, i.e. 47% urbanization), including women in cities 16 425, in villages 35 744 inhabitants, including women 17 696 i.e. population density 64.82 people / km².

  • Rural communes: Damasławek (commune), Mieścisko (commune), Wapno (commune), Wągrowiec (rural commune).

Located in the north-eastern part of the Greater Poland Voivodeship, on the border of the Chodzieskie and Gniezno Lakelands, in the western part of the historical and cultural region Paluki.

The fairly flat, monotonous landscape of the moraine plateau is diversified by the few hills and lakes, creating good conditions for water sports. Several small reservoirs connected by Struga Gołaniecka are located in the lake gutter from Gołańcza to Wągrowiec.

Nature

The Wągrowiec Poviat is an area with a low degree of soil, air and water pollution.

Forests (mostly mixed) cover 19% of the area. county.

The largest river is Wełna (the right tributary of the Warta), flowing along a small latitudinal valley through the center of the poviat. In addition, Nielba, Struga Gołaniecka and Mała Wełna are flowing. Two of the rivers, Nielba and Wełna, intersect creating a unique hydrographic phenomenon.

There is an interesting nature and forest reserve "Dębina", located just a few kilometers from Wągrowiec. It is a 40-hectare forest complex with nearly 300-year-old oaks, the most magnificent of which has been recognized as a natural monument - the Wojciech Korfanty. In addition to oaks, there are, among others, limes, elms, maples, beeches, sycamores, and in the undergrowth protected species, such as: single-flowered pearl, it is empty, forest orchid. There are nests of various species of birds including gray heron and peregrine falcon.

There is a fauna reserve in the Bracholin lakes. There are 139 species of birds, including 68 breeding species, incl. rare woolly duck, greylag goose, several species grebes, and marsh owl.

There is a fragment in the southern part of the poviat Puszcza Zielonka Landscape Park (most of the v poviat of Poznań).

Tourism

There are hiking and biking trails as well as crossing the poviat Cistercian route.
