It borders the autonomous community of Murcia to the southwest, with the Castile-La Mancha (province of Albacete) to the north-west, with the province of Valencia to the north and with the Mediterranean Sea to the east.

- Alcoy (Alcoi) - Located on the border with the province of Albacete and at 561 m a.s.l. Alcoy it is known as the city of bridges. It has interesting monuments such as the Iglesia de Santa Maria of the seventeenth century and a small Arqueological Museum, set up in convent de San Agustì but its ace in the hole is the nearby natural parks of Carrascal and Sierra de Mariola.
