Palawan is an island and a province of the Philippines.

Territories and tourist destinations
The largest island, Palawan is surrounded by around 1,800 small islands and islets. The main groups are:
- Island of Dumaran.
- The Calamian.
- The Cuyo Islands and south of these the island of Cagayancillo.
- The islands Balabac.
- The islands Kalayaan.
Urban centers
- Puerto Princesa - Capital and major tourist center of the province, Puerto Princesa it is famous for its seabed.
- Coron - Main center of the island Busuanga and stop on the routes of ferries and cataramans coming from Mindoro, Coron is famous for its seabed where shipwrecks of galleons lie, examined by scuba diving enthusiasts.
- El Nido - Small port in a magnificent position, on the edge of a deep gulf dotted with islets.
- Port Barton - A small town on the north east coast between virgin beaches.
- Quezon - Base to explore a series of caves, called Tabon, where human skulls and bones have been found dating back to a period between 16,500 and 67,000 years ago.
- Roxas - Small port where you can embark for the islets in front, some occupied by expensive hotel complexes.
- Taytay - Former capital of Palawan with relics from the Spanish colonial period.
Other destinations
- 1 Busuanga - The most touristic island of the group of Kalayaan.
- 2 Tubbataha Coral Reefs Natural Park - Marine park off the eastern coast of Palawan, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Tubbataha is considered to be the best dive site in the Philippines and the ships carrying tourists are booked years in advance due to high demand.
- 3 Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park - Subterranean river that passes through various stalactite and stalagmite caves before flowing into the South China Sea. A stretch of the river of about 4.5 km can be traveled by boat. In 1999 it was included in the UNESCO list of world heritage sites.
