It borders the provinces of Leon is Palencia North of Burgos to the east, of Segovia and of Ávila south, of Salamanca to the southwest and of Zamora West.

The cuisine of the province of Valladolid is typically Castilian, albeit with some variations. The northern region of Tierra de Campos is renowned for the production of sheep's milk cheeses in particular Villalón cheese (queso de Villalón), seasoned or semi-seasoned.
Garlic soups, stews (cocidos) slow cooking and stewed lentils (Lenteja pardina). In the field of pastry, the Mantecado de Portillo and traditional candied almonds (almendras garrapiñadas), a specialty of Medina de Rioseco.
Drinks
The DOC wines of Rueda were the wines of the court at the time of the Catholic Monarchs. For their preparation, the Verdejo grape is used and, to a lesser extent, the Sauvignon grape. They can be white, sparkling, red, rosé and liqueur. The DOC Toro wines are mainly white, pink and red, those with the Tierra de León designation of origin are white, pink and red. The rosé doc of Cigales also deserve a mention.
