The station was built as early as 1855. At that time, a spacious two-story building was put into use, which housed, among others, post. Before 1869, when the railway station in Cieszyn was opened, a horse-drawn omnibus ran between Pruchna and Cieszyn, bringing passengers from the station to the city.

During World War II, at the beginning of 1945, the station building was completely destroyed. After the end of the war, the tracks were rebuilt, and for the needs of passenger service, temporary wooden barracks were built to house a heated waiting room, a ticket office, rooms for duty traffic and station managers.

During the electrification of the line in the first half of the 1960s, the passenger service infrastructure was not modernized, and the existing station building was not built until the mid-1970s and housed ticket offices and a waiting room. In the 1990s, there was also a beer bar here. Currently, the cash desks and the waiting room are closed, and the premises of the building are rented to various entities.
