- 1 Wyoming Frontier Prison Museum (Wyoming Frontier Prison Museum), 500 West Walnut, ☎ 1-307-324-4422, @[email protected]. The former Wyoming Border Prison, in use from 1901 to 1981, offers guided tours through the cell blocks, cafeteria, gardens and Death House.
- About 35 miles south of Rawlins is Medicine Bow National Forest. This is a large and very beautiful national forest with lots of wildlife, scenic views, and some of the most undisturbed natural scenery in the United States. This forest extends as far south as Steamboat Springs in Colorado. There are some campsites with others on the way.
