  • Absam (632 m): The place with 6,474 inhabitants is known for its pilgrimage church and the apparition house, in which 18-year-old Rosina Bucher was the first to see a woman in the window pane in 1797, which could not be removed. But the famous violin maker Jakob Stainer also lived and worked here.
  • Baumkirchen: The 1000-soul place is especially popular because of the good hiking opportunities. The springs that made Baumkirchen a popular spa in the 16th century were unfortunately buried.
  • Fritzens: The local schnapps distilleries Zalesky, Zimmermann and Rochelt offer tours into the world of schnapps production. Also of interest are fragments from the La Tené period and the parish church with valuable carvings.
  • Gnadenwald: The small town with 750 inhabitants is located at the foot of the Karwendel Alpine Park nature reserve and offers an ideal starting point for hikes or mountain bike tours.
  • Hall in Tirol (574 m), medieval mining town with a historic town center;
  • Mils: is home to one of the most famous Tyrolean choirs, the Oswald Milser Choir, as well as Tyrol's first day spa.
  • Thaur: is called Tyrol's largest vegetable garden, because agriculture is still of great importance here. But the carving tradition is still preserved here. Both the Thaur nativity scene carvers and the wooden masks of the carnival figures are known.
  • Tulfes (923 m): Nature lovers are particularly attracted by the Zirbenweg. The circular hiking trail includes one of the largest pine forests in Europe.
  • Volders: The castles Friedberg and Aschach bear witness to a long history of Volders, but the Karlskirche is also an important landmark of the place.
  • Wattenberg: A large number of original farms that have been restored down to the last detail.

  • Rätersiedlung Himmelreich Wattens - Volders. Excavations of a settlement from prehistoric times. On the settlement area enclosed by a ring wall, the foundations of five buildings can be viewed, which presumably represented the heap of a Rhaetian nobleman. He was from the 4th to the 1st century. inhabited before Christ and was destroyed by fire. The open-air museum in the Kingdom of Heaven is freely accessible at all times.
  • Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens. The Crystal Worlds offer visitors a special experience. Inside the "giant" there are subterranean chambers of curiosities with a multifaceted play of crystalline colors and shapes.
  • Salt warehouse in Hall. One of the largest and most impressive indoor event locations in western Austria. The distinctive image of the salt warehouse is mainly characterized by twelve massive, 80 cm thick salt pillars, which give the imposing hall its incomparable ambience. With around 1,200 m² of event space in the large columned hall and 400 m² each in the two other event halls on the ground floor and on the upper floor, this extraordinary event location offers space for several hundred people.
  • Pilgrimage basilica in Absam. On January 17, 1797, the image of Our Lady appeared in the window of a farmhouse. After unsuccessful attempts by science to fathom the origin of this image, the miraculous image finally found its place on the right side altar of the parish church at the urging of the population. In 2000 the church was elevated to a basilica.
  • Old town of Hall in Tirol. The 700 year old city flourished in the 13th century because of its rich salt deposits. The first silver coin, the thaler, was minted here later. This gave its name to the dollar. Hall is the largest medieval old town in western Austria and is best known for the Mint Tower and Hasegg Castle. Also worth seeing are the upper town square, the old town hall and the Gothic parish church of St. Nicholas.

To go biking

The well-known Inn cycle path from Innsbruck to Passau passes in the immediate vicinity, and there are also several tours available especially for mountain bikers. These range from leisurely cycling routes to challenging mountain slopes.

Climb

The 10 km long Halltall, which goes from the Inn valley to the Karwendel is the ideal starting point for all kinds of climbing tours. The Alpine Club Hall offers ideal climbing conditions with seven climbing gardens. The classic routes are of difficulty level 6, a few easier routes in the 4 and 5 range are also available.
