The community Tulfes is about 12 km east of innsbruck in the Tyrolean Lower Inn Valley in the tourist region Hall-Wattens region. Tulfes' local mountain is the Glungezer in the Tux Alps, Hiking area and known for the Glungezer ski area.

The village of Tulfes is located on a plateau above the Inn Valley and has been able to maintain its rural character to this day. With its almost untouched landscape, it is a destination for cyclists and hikers.

The nearest train station is that of Hall in Tirol (about 9 km away on the road) on the other side of the Inns and station on the Munich-Kufstein-Innsbruck railway line. The station is a stop for regional trains and EC connections.

In summer
Tulfer's local mountain "Glungezer" with its height of 2677 m is one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the country and offers hiking opportunities of all levels of difficulty. The stone pine path from Patscherkofel to Tulfes, which is named after the stone pines that grow here in large numbers, is particularly noteworthy.
In the winter
The local mountain "Glungezer" also serves winter sports enthusiasts such as skiers, tobogganists and ski tourers. There is also a cross-country ski run just a few kilometers from Tulfes. A special feature is the clumping, the ride on a single-skid toboggan. This winter sport is cultivated by the club club in Tulfes. The association also teaches interested guests how to use this toboggan.
