Gałków nature reserve - Rezerwat przyrody Gałków

Gałków nature reserve lies in Poland, in voivodeship of Lodz, in Eastern Lodz County, in the municipality Koluszki.
It was established on July 18, 1958 and has an area of ​​50.60 ha.

A fragment of a beech and fir forest with original features is under protection. Already in the 1930s, many old ones were noticed beeches. The then forester, on his own initiative, fenced some of the most beautiful beeches, but it was not until 1958 that a reserve was established here. During World War II, the forest was badly damaged as a result of the invaders' robbery.

The peculiarity of this place is a group of about 25 ancient beech trees aged 180-220 years. Several old ones are also growing in the reserve fir trees up to 140 years old.
The vegetation of the reserve is floristically poor beech forest (acid beech forest).
The protected plants include: juniper club moss and common ivy.
Numerous species of birds have also been found, including: Great Spotted Woodpecker, stove, warbler, gray and small flycatchers, the blacksmith and forest creeper.
