Eastern Lodz County - poviat in Poland in voivodeship of Lodz, created in 1999 as part of an administrative reform. The seat of the authorities is the city Łódź.
In 2002, part of the area was separated Brzeziny County.
The area of ​​the poviat is currently 499.76 km², which is 2.74% of the area of ​​the Łódzkie Voivodeship. The poviat is situated to the east and south of Łódź, within Wzniesienia Łódzkie and Wysoczyzna Bełchatów. The main centers of the region are Koluszki, Rzgow and Tuszyn, the poviat also includes the rural communes of Andrespol, Brójce and Nowosolna.
Communication with the region is possible thanks to the A1 route connecting the north and south of the country and the Łódź - Warsaw railway line.

One of the greatest advantages of the area are large forest complexes. Their presence contributed to the creation of numerous summer resorts in the vicinity of Łódź in the interwar period.
The rivers Mroga, Ner and Wolbórka flow through the poviat, and there is one in its territory Wzniesienia Łódzkie Landscape Park.
Molenda nature reserve about the area 143 ha, created in 1959 to preserve a fragment of the original mixed forest of the former Łódź Forest with magnificent, over 150-year-old fir trees, growing on the northern border of their natural range.
"Wiączyń" nature reserve in the Nowosolna commune it protects the beech forest. The facility is part of the Wiączyński Forest, which is a remnant of the former Łódź Forest.
In the forest, near the village of Wiączyń Dolny, there is a war cemetery from World War I, where the graves of the fallen in the so-called "Battle of Lodz" German and Russian soldiers. The necropolis is located on the former grounds of the Łódź industrialist Karol Wilhelm Scheibler, and today it is under the care of the Exploration and History Association "Grupa Łódź".
There are numerous sites in the district associated with the battlefields of 1914, including cemeteries, single graves, ramparts and trenches. Along with the Brzeziny poviat, the Museum in Space project is being implemented - the multicultural roots of the Łódź region. The project refers to the events of World War I, and its aim is to protect the cultural heritage from that period, as well as to make it available to tourists.
