Jawora nature reserve - Rezerwat przyrody Jawora

Jawora nature reserve - floristic and forest nature reserve in Poland, in voivodeship of Lodz, in Piotrków County, in the commune of Handno, in the village Bąkowa Góra.

It covers an area of ​​87.99 ha and was established by the Order of the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of August 12, 1987.

The reserve is located in Sulejowski Landscape Park included in the Complex of Nadpiliczne Landscape Parks.

The reserve is located on the northern slope of a hill made of chalk sandstone, 282 m high.

The subject of protection is upland deciduous and mixed forest. The purpose of protection is to preserve the disappearing communities of submontane riparian forests and to preserve the sites of rare forest plant species in the lowlands, e.g. low-diabetic hammers.

There are forests here, including: alder, riparian forests, subcontinental oak-hornbeam forest, luminous oak wood, mixed pine-oak forest, pine forests: fresh, moist and dry.

Valuable plant species grow here, including: twinflower, forest pane, the large-flowered roundworm, European plume and club moss. Among non-forest vegetation, the following deserve special attention: the community of valerian and sedge communities: spherical, millet and stiff.
