Rincon de la Victoria is a municipality in the western corner of the Comarca de la Axarquia, in a preferred location on the Costa del Sol. The increasing tourism in the last few years and the possession of historical treasures means the turn to an important tourist destination and an excellent place to live and vacation. This municipality owns 27.51 km²
The city is divided into four districts:
- Rincon de la Victoria
- Cala del Moral
- Benagalbon
- Torre de Benagalbon
The limits are: in the north Moclinejo and Macharaviaya, located in the northwest of Totalan, to the west Malaga and to the east is Velez-Malaga. The municipality's economy depends on tourism, although fishing and agriculture should not be forgotten.
Like so many cities around the Costa del Sol Rincón de la Victoria also goes back to the Phoenicians who settled the place as a trading post. Probably people lived here before the Phoenicians arrived. The coast was inhabited as early as the Paleolithic. The Romans took over and fortified this settlement during their rule. During the Arab period, Rincon de la Victoria was elevated to the rank of city. The city is just a few kilometers east of Málaga. This is why many of the people of Malaga come here in their free time. But there are also many holidaymakers who spend their vacation time here.
getting there
By plane
The nearest airport is that Malaga airport. It is very easy to get to by bus but also by car. Malaga airport is some 15 kilometers away.
By train
The nearest long-distance train station is also in Málaga, which is also easy to reach by bus. With the AVE you can go from here to Madrid, Barcelona, Cordoba and Seville drive. Malaga train station is around 15 minutes away by car.
By bus
Rincón de la Victoria is connected to the Málaga bus system. From here you can drive to the bus station in Málaga to many parts of Andalusia. The bus station is located directly at the long-distance train station in Málaga.
In the street
Málaga can also be reached quickly on the coastal road. If you drive on the A-7 motorway you can continue down the Costa del Sol around Málaga. You can also continue north on the A-45. So you can Seville, Granada and Cordoba to reach. If you drive east on the A-7, you will follow Vélez-Málaga and further after Almeria. To the west of Rincón de la Victoria, the A-24 branches off from the A-7 towards the coast and then runs along the coast. Shortly before Málaga, the road bends north again and then ends again on the A-7.
By boat
The port of Malaga is the destination of many cruise ships. But also small ships dock here. There is also a ferry connection here Melilla.

Rincón de la Victoria is quite big, if you want to see everything on foot, you should be in reasonable shape. A mobile pedestal is quite good, even if you just want to go to Málaga. There is a direct bike path along the beach into Málaga's old town

Buildings
- The Fuerte de Benizmiliana is a fortress from the 18th century. The fortress served as a protection against attacks by pirates. Today you can visit the fortress. La Casa Fuerte de Bezmiliana (Fortress Bezmiliana) was built around 1766 by order of Carlos III according to the plans of the military engineers Jose Crane and Francisco de Gozar. This fortress was included in a coastal defense project against the sea and land robbery from which the zone suffered. It is used today for exhibitions.
- The Watchtowers by Rincón de la Victoria come from the Moorish period. They too had the task of detecting attacks from the sea at an early stage, initiating countermeasures and finally repelling the attacks. The watchtowers are in contrast to the Atalayas on in the western part of the Costa del Sol larger and designed for more people. Communication between the towers was ensured by fire. Two of these watchtowers can be seen in Rincón de la Victoria.

CAVE The treasure cave "Cueva del Tesoro" is located between the towns of La Cala deI Moral and Rincon de la Victoria. It is located on one of the steep slopes that stretch down to the Mediterranean coast. The "Cueva del Tesoro" emerged from the sea. Their galleries were formed under the sea level by currents and waves. Later this whole area of EI Cantal emerged and with it the various caves and grottoes that are here, such as the "Cueva del Tesoro". Because of this origin, its most prominent formations are ravines and pillars. Later, freshwater filtration created some of the more typical phenomena found in limestone caves, such as stalactites and stalagmites. It has remains of cave paintings that were described by Abbot Breuil as early as 1918. Archaeological remains of the Cueva del Tesoro are kept in the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid. There are numerous ceramic remains from the Neolithic and from the Litic manufacture of flint, under which a spearhead of the Solutrense protrudes. Remains of humans and animals have also been discovered.
