Basilica of Saint Peter
  • 1 Basilica of Saint Peter, St. Peter's Square, 39 095931187. In neoclassical style, the basilica takes up the facade of the basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, a Rome. The plant has a Latin cross and three naves. Inside we find a late 19th century Jaquot pipe organ from Remberville, France, an artistic pulpit by the architect Carlo Sada and several paintings by Sicilian painters. Church of the Madonna della Lettera
  • 2 Church of the Madonna della Lettera, Via Cristoforo Colombo, 99. The Church was the first in Riposto; however the present structure is only the fourth reconstruction. The first was erected in the twelfth century, the second in the Renaissance period, the third in the eighteenth century and the last in 1868. Inside there is a painting depicting the Madonna della Letter which replaces an ancient Byzantine icon now lost. In the church there are also an eighteenth-century organ and a crypt with an ossuary, a well of sea water and cologne used for the treatment of the corpses, where even today, during high and low tide, the water rises and lowers.

  • 4 Villa Pantano. Which was the seat of the English camp during the Allied occupation. It houses a bronze bust dedicated to the politician, the work of the sculptor Ettore Ximenes.
