Little monkey in the mangrove forest of Khlong Khon
  • Amphawa, 7 km northwest of Samut Songkhram. With a floating market, Rama II Memorial Park (replica wooden buildings in the traditional style of the four regions of Thailand), Wat Amphawan (old temple with wall paintings) and a canal from which you can see thousands of fireflies at night.
  • Damnoen Saduak, 20 km north. Another floating market.
  • Mangrove forest at Khlong Khon With
Conservation Center. Tel.: (0)34-731188, Mobile: (0)86-1777942, Email: .
17 km south (first drive on national road 35 towards Ratchaburi / Phetchaburi, after 9 km (behind the PTT gas station) turn left towards Cha-am (Khlong Khon is only signposted in Thai: คลอง โคน), after 600 m behind the curve again left under the decorative gate (here "Wat Khlongkhon" is also signposted in Latin script, but the sign is very small and easy to overlook, otherwise only Thai signs, the gate is not overlooked), then it is another 4.5 km to the "Conservation Mangrove Center", which is across a small bridge on the other side of the canal). In the Conservation Center you can find out more about the biodiversity of the mangrove and the work of the forest conservationists. From here boat tours through the mangroves to the sea are offered, where you can have a snack (fish / seafood) on an island. On the way back you can either wade through the knee-deep mud (bring insensitive clothing and a change of clothes!) Or let yourself be pushed on a raft. On the way you can see the local monkeys. Be sure to think about sun protection.
  • Phetchaburi, 50 km south. With a history park, two royal palaces, numerous temples and impressive natural caves in which the Buddha is worshiped.
