The Swabian Alb Northern Edge Trail (Hauptwanderweg 1, HW 1), also Albsteig, is a long-distance hiking trail of the Swabian Alb Association along the north side of the Swabian Alb. Depending on the division, it leads in 16 or 25 daily stages over a total of 365 kilometers from Donauwörth to Tuttlingen and follows the night eaves. As a result, it also touches the Swabian Alb biosphere area of ​​UNESCO.

The Swabian Alb North Edge Trail was certified on September 2, 2009 by the Association of German Mountain and Hiking Associations as a quality trail for Wanderable Germany. Since 2012 it has been marketed as Albsteig by the Top Trails of Germany association.
