Owen is a small town in Middle Alb foreland at the foot of the castle Teck. The name Owen is an old spelling of the word Floodplains, and this is how the place name is pronounced. This is even printed in phonetic script in the Duden.

The small town Owen lies in the foothills of the Alb in the valley of the Lenninger Lauter, which flows into the Neckar near Wendlingen. It is dominated by the Teckberg with Teck Castle. The municipality is part of the Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve.

Neighboring communities are Dettingen under Teck, Bissingen on the Teck, Lenningen, Erkenbrechtsweiler and Beuren (near Nürtingen)
