The Middle Alb foreland is limited in the north by the Fils river, in the south by the Albtrauf and in the west by the Neckar. In the east it connects to the Eastern Alb foreland.
Regions
The central foothills of the Swabian Alb lies between the Alb eaves of the Middle Swabian Alb up to SchönbuchFilder and Virgin forestof which it is through Neckar and Fils is separated. Fertile fields and orchards that bloom profusely in spring were once the hallmarks of this landscape, but small and medium-sized towns characterized by industry and trade have now become typical of this region. The numerous witness mountains such as the Achalm near Reutlingen or the Hohenneuffen are typical, as are the bulges along the Alb eaves as in the area of the Teck, also the partially deeply cut valleys of the rivers Echaz, Ermsthat flows to the Neckar volume up and of course the Fils.
