Uhingen is a small town in Middle Alb foreland, it is located in the Filstal and belongs to the district of Göppingen.
background
Uhingen was first mentioned in a document in 1275. However, the region was settled much earlier, such as grave finds from the 6th / 7th. Century. In 1332 the place came to Württemberg. In the middle of the 19th century, Uhingen was connected to the railway network, and companies in the textile industry first settled here, followed by the metal industry after the First World War. In the course of the municipal reform in 1971/1972, the formerly independent places Baiereck, Holzhausen and Sparwiesen were incorporated. Uhingen received city rights in 1997.
Neighboring communities are Cheeks, Goeppingen, Hattenhofen, Albershausen, Ebersbach an der Fils, Lichtenwald and Schorndorf.
