Schönebeck (Elbe) is located around 15 kilometers south of the state capital of Saxony-Anhalt Magdeburg on the Elbe and consists of the 10 districts: left Elbisch Schönebeck, Bad Salzelmen, Felgeleben, Frohse and Sachsenland, right Elbenau, Grünewalde, Plötzky, Pretzien and Ranies.
Schönebeck can look back on a history of more than 800 years of salt production using brine. The history of the health resort Bad Salzelmen began with the discovery of the healing properties of brine. The first salt water spa in Germany opened its doors here in 1802.

The St. Jakobi Church from the 13th century is the oldest church in the city. Free parking spaces are available directly in front of the building.Open: Mon, Wed, Thu 09:00 - 13:00; Tue 12: 00-16: 00; Fri 08: 00-12: 00. - 2 Shalom House, Republikstrasse 43. The Shalom House is a former synagogue. The listed building dates from the Wilhelminian era and was built with Arabic style elements. A restoration took place between 1983-86. Today the house houses the Evangelical Free Church Community.

Monuments
- 6 Salt flower. The 16 meter high and 12 meter wide sculpture stands directly on the banks of the Elbe. The 25-ton sculpture, made of stainless steel and iron, was unveiled in 1997 and points to Schönebeck's tradition as a place of salt production and trade.
