The small town Sedgefield is located on the Garden Route in South Africa.

Sedgefield is on the coast of the Indian Ocean at the edge of the Wilderness National Park. The name of the place goes back to the origin of its former inhabitants. Politically, Sedgefield belongs to Knysna.
West of the place begins at Wilderness a lake area, that includes Langevlei, the Rondevlei and the Swartvlei, these lakes belong to a lagoon that flows into the sea at Sedgefield.
Sedgefield is the first city in South Africa to join the movement Slow City connected.
