the long-distance footpath 70 said Stevenson path in reference to the work produced by the writer of the same name in the company of a donkey.

Understand

The initial and initiatory path of the Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson began on September 22, 1878, at Monastier-sur-Gazeille, with a donkey named Modestine. After a journey of 12 days and 22 km, he arrives at Saint-Jean-du-Gard. He will publish his travelogue the following year at London. The path will be marked out and created as a GR70, in 1993, by the French hiking federation. An association wishing to support the GR locally was founded the following year. Security

The problem of bedbugs is present on many hiking trails, including the Stevenson trail. Accommodation providers preventively treat their rooms against this scourge and some walkers treat their effects in advance (backpack, duvet or travel sheet) with an insecticide (eg: “traveler's flask” from Clako).
