Forest in BPK
The Rawka river in Dolecek
The "Polana Siwica" reserve

The biggest tourist attraction around Skierniewice is Bolimowska Primeval Forest, stretching between Skierniewice, Nieborów, Bolimów and Radziwiłł, as well as the river Rawka flowing through the very center of the Forest. Pine dominates the stand, but there are also spruce, birch, oak, hornbeam, linden, ash and alder. The undergrowth is rich: mushrooms, blueberries, blackberries. There are animals there, among others. fallow deer, deer, elks, roe deer, wild foxes, beavers by the river, and many species of fish on the river itself. In addition, you can meet many species of birds there (e.g. black stork).

The Rawka is a picturesque river, which has almost entirely retained its natural character, it is distinguished by clean water, rapid current and numerous meanders.

On the basis of the Bolimowska Primeval Forest and the remains of the Jaktorowska and Wiskicka primeval forests, it was established in 1986. Bolimów Landscape Park (BPK) with an area of 23 thousand ha (including 13.5 thousand ha of forest). There are reserves in the BPK area: Ruda-Chlebacz (protection of the alder forest with the position of the prairie moth), Kopanich (protection of oak-hornbeam forest, alder forest, swamp forest), Rawka (river protection along its entire length - including branches), Mariańska Primeval Forest (protection of broadleaved forest with rare species of plants in the undergrowth), Polana Siwica (meadow and peat bog). The BPK area is therefore very attractive in terms of sightseeing (hiking, biking and canoeing trips on the Rawka river) and leisure (agritourism farms, equestrian centers, campsites, holiday centers - mainly on the Rawka river, e.g. in the village Budy Grabskie).

It should be noted that the Rawka river is appreciated by enthusiasts canoe tourism as a difficult river, requiring great physical fitness and skills. The reason is the necessity of frequent relocations of canoes due to, among others, for trees fallen by beavers, wild footbridges, mill barriers, etc. The Rawka also has features typical of mountain rivers, e.g. rapids, backwater, bumps, variable depth (from 0.4 to over 2 m) and the width of the channel - which requires constant caution from canoeists . The easiest canoeing section on Rawka is the Joachimów-Mogiły - Kęszyce section (approx. 14 km), the moderately difficult section is Doleck - Joachimów-Mogiły (approx. 30 km), the most difficult is Kurzeszyn - Nowy Dwór (approx. 6 km).
