Pagaruyung Palace
- Pagaruyung Palace. Royal Palace of the former Pagaruyung Kingdom. Originally built entirely of wood, the building, which was completely rebuilt after a fire in 2007, is now essentially made of concrete, which cannot be seen from the outside because it is completely clad in wood, true to the original. The multi-tiered roof covered with sugar palm fibers, which is curved in the shape of a pair of horns, is striking. 100 km northeast of Padang; about halfway between Padang Panjang and Sawahlunto.
