Szklarska Poreba(German: Schreiberhau) is a city in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in the Giant Mountains to the Pink. Their location makes them next Karpacz, Jagniątków and Kowary the most important center of tourism in the Polish part of the Giant Mountains. The city offers opportunities for winter sports and is the starting point for hikes in all parts of the Giant Mountains, especially in the national park and on the Schneekoppe, which is over 1600 meters above sea level.

The place was first mentioned in 1366. The inhabitants lived mainly from the forest economy and the glass industry. Tourism began to develop in the early 19th century. At the end of the 19th century, Szklarska Poręba was connected to the Giant Mountains railway network. The place continued to develop, with the exception of the times of the world wars. In 1945 he arrived Poland.
