Camouflage is a department in the French region Midi-Pyrénées with serial number 81. It borders (clockwise, starting in the north) on the départements Aveyron, Herault, Aude, Haute-Garonne and Tarn-et-Garonne.

By plane

The nearest airport is in Toulouse-Blagnac. The airport is also not far Rodez-Aveyron, but there are only a few line connections there. The small regional airport is located in the Tarn department itself Castres-Mazamet where the cheap line Hop! Direct connections with Paris-Orly offers.

By train

Regional express trains (TER) on the line stop in Albi approximately every hour Toulouse–Carmaux / Rodez. Other stations on this connection are Saint-Sulpice, Rabastens / Couffouleu, Lisle-sur-Tarn, Gaillac and Carmaux. TER also operate roughly every hour on the Toulouse – Mazamet line via Saint-Sulpice, Lavaur, Damiatte / Saint-Paul, Vielmur-sur-Agout and Castres. On the Toulouse – Capdenac / Figeac line, six TERs operate daily in each direction with stops in Saint-Sulpice, Lisle-sur-Tarn, Gaillac, Cordes / Vindrac and Lexos.

In the street

The A 68 motorway (“Autoroute du Pastel”) coming from Toulouse and the N 88 national road, which has been developed in sections like a motorway, connect the area with Rodez and the A 75 (Montpellier-Clermont-Ferrand) right through the middle of the department.

The departmental company TarnBus organizes bus transport on 23 lines, but most of them only run a few times a day.

  • Albi. Episcopal district with an unusual Gothic brick cathedral Sainte-Cécile as well as the bishop's palace Palais de la Berbie; Toulouse-Lautrec Museum.
  • Castelnau-de-Montmiral. Central square, surrounded by half-timbered or brick buildings with pillar arcades or studs; City gate; as well as renaissance castle Château de Mayragues.
  • Castres. Cathedral; Baroque Jesuit church Notre-Dame-de-la-Platé; interesting townhouses from the 16th and 17th centuries; historic houses that stand directly on the banks of the Agout; Center national et musée Jean-Jaurès (Castres was the birthplace of the important socialist politician); Goya Museum; beautiful city theater in rococo style.
  • Sorèze. Benedictine abbey founded in the 8th century, later converted into a school; Military school; Saint-Ferréol reservoir; Remains of the Celtic city of Berniquaut.
