Thebes is a city of Boeotia.
To know
Thebes is an unassuming modern city built on the site of the ancient city of the same name that played a dominant role over classical Greece during the 4th century BC. until its destruction by Alexander in 335 BC.
The only reason for a visit to Thebes is for the presence of the archaeological museum and for the small archaeological sites in the city.

By plane
The nearest airport is the international airport Eleftherios Venizelos of Athens.
By car
From Athens along the

- 2 Kadmeio Mycenaean Palace (Καδμεια), Pindarou 59. In this excavated street corner there is a part (the north-east corner) of the Mycenaean palace of the 13th century BC. used until the Byzantine era. The palace walls were finely decorated with frescoes. Several objects have also been found indicating residential use.
