Geography

It is located on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, adjacent to the states Louisiana and Arkansas in the east, state Oklahoma in the north and New Mexico in the West. To the south-west it borders with Mexico. The area is mostly upland (Great Plains), in the south-west part small mountainous areas, in the south-east part the Bay Lowlands.
