- 4 Thyborøn Fortress bunkers. Thyborøn Fortress was part of the Atlantic Wall, the line of defense that the German occupation forces had built on the Atlantic coasts of all occupied countries during World War II. In Jutland there are numerous systems along the entire coastline, but Thyborøn was a particularly developed system, similar to in Hanstholm. The more than 60 bunkers extend over the entire beach and - as far as they are preserved - are at least freely accessible from the outside. A brochure about Thyborøn Fortress is available from Tourist Information. The signposted exhibition was closed in summer 2015, a new museum about the fortress appears to be among other things (Sea War Museum) to be in the making.
