Central Jutland (Danish: Midtjylland) is a region in Denmark on the peninsula Jutland.
Regions
Midtjylland is divided into 19 municipalities, of which Ringkøbing-Skjern municipality is the largest in terms of area, the municipality Aarhus on the other hand those with the largest population. From a touristic point of view, it is not very helpful to include this differentiation, so that the travel guides are mainly subdivided into locations and regions defined by tourism. Another subdivision of Midtjylland is that in Vestjylland and Østjylland, which officially only serves statistical purposes.

Other goals
Coasts and inland waters
For travelers, the coastal regions of Midtjylland are mostly particularly attractive; with their wide range of holiday homes and campsites, they offer ideal holiday conditions, especially for self-caterers.
North Sea coast of Midtjylland: From the southern end of Holmsland Klit Along the Ringkøbing Fjord and the Nissum Fjord up to Thyborøn at the end of Harboøre Tange, the coastal region stretches out with dune strips and sandy beaches, which are repeatedly interspersed with typical clit plantations, the planted dune strips that protect against coastal erosion.
Kattegat coast of Central Jutland: the Kattegat coast is much more rugged than the North Sea coast and extends approximately from Juelsminde above Horsens and Aarhus, then around the peninsulas Moles, Ebeltoft and Djursland. It ends on the south bank of the mouth of the Mariagerfjord in the Kattegat.
From south to north there are also several large (inland) waters in Midtjylland, of which the most northerly, the Limfjord, with its southern bank in the western part of the region, also represents the regional border with North Jutland.
1 Ringkøbing Fjord - Strictly speaking, with its 300 km² water surface, it is not a fjord, but a brackish lake, which at Hvide Sands has a connection to the sea. It is the largest coastal lake in Denmark, a total of 30 km long, 12 km wide, but only up to 1.5 m deep. He is from the 30 km long Holmsland Klit, a spit between a few 100 m and a maximum of 2 km wide Nymindegab in the south and Søndervig separated from the sea in the north. The fjord offers a variety of water sports, especially for surfers, it is a quieter alternative to the often stormy surfing area of the North Sea.
2 Nissum Fjord - It is not a fjord in the strict sense of the word, but a coastal lake that, like the larger Ringkøbing Fjor, is only separated from the sea by a 13 km long, narrow, often only 200 m wide spit - Bøvling Klit. The Nissum Fjord has a water surface of 70 km², the water depth is only 1 m in most places, only a few places are between 2-3 m deep. Due to its shallow depth, attempts were made to dry the lake in the 19th century, but these plans were abandoned. Due to its shallow depth, the Nissum Fjord is valued today as an ideal practice area, especially by surfing beginners. At Thorsminde there is a barrage that regulates the exchange of water between the lake and the sea.
3 Limfjord - It is no longer a fjord either, but a continuous arm of the sea since the February flood of 1825, when the huge storm surges formed the last continuous headland Thyboron destroyed. Today a small car ferry operates between Thyborøn at the end of Harboør Tange and Agger Tange on the northern bank of the Limfjord, which is already closed North Jutland belongs. The Limfjord is an inlet of around 1500 km² with a total of around 1000 km of shoreline - the southern shoreline is largely the border between central and northern Jutland.
