Toujane is a village in the Tunisian central coast, in Tunisia.
Understand
Toujane is a small picturesque village, established on the slopes of the mountains overlooking a narrow gorge carved by a wadi. It is overlooked by an impressive ksar.
To go
- Of Gabes, take the C107 road, in the direction of Matmata, to the south (fairly good road). In Matmata, turn left, on the RN 20 road, in the direction of Medenine (good road).
- From Medenine, take, west, the RN 20 road, in the direction of Douz.
Circulate
In the village, given its small size and the narrowness of the streets, you can get around on foot. To admire the surroundings, the car is essential.

- Matmata Mountains - Between Matmata and Toujane, you can admire the desert landscapes, typical of southern Tunisia, at the gates of Sahara. Low mountains, peeled, as far as the eye can see, are crisscrossed with dusty tracks. A few rare palm and olive trees add a touch of green to a uniformly ocher decor.
- 1 Ksar – From ksar, in ruins, there is an extensive view of the village, the valley and the surrounding mountains.
