Treviso (Treviso in Italian and English) is a city ofItaly, located about thirty kilometers from Venice.
Understand
Formerly a Roman municipality with the name of Tarvisium, Treviso flourished in the Middle Ages and under the rule of the Republic of Venice. The heart of the city is Piazza dei Signori, around which there are many palaces, including the "Bell Tower" and the "Palazzo dei Trecento". Giuseppe Mazzotti called Treviso "the most frescoed city in Italy".

Coming from the south (Venice), exit at the Treviso Sud tollbooth and take the Treviso Mare road west.
Coming from the north (Conegliano), leave the highway at Treviso Nord (at Lancenigo in the municipality of Villorba), take via Piave southwest and continue for approximately 3,7 km to Pontebbana (SS 13). From there to the south, after 3,5 km arrive at Porta di San Tomaso.

- 1 Place des Seigneurs (Piazza dei Signori) – Located in the center of the city, the square is the cultural, social and historical center of Treviso. The name is due to the presence here of the "Palace of the Lordship of Treviso". It is broken down into two entities: The Prefecture Palace, with the Civic Tower (1218), which was the seat of the Lordship: it dates from the 13th century, but has undergone many changes over the centuries. The Palazzo dei Trecento, former seat of the Great Council which dates from the thirteenth century.
- 2 Cathedral Piazza del Duomo, 2 – Church with an imposing neoclassical facade. The altarpiece in the Malchiostro Chapel, inside the cathedral, is a work by Titian.
- 3 Church of San Nicolò (Chiesa di San Nicolò) Via San Nicolò 50, 31100 Treviso – church of the Dominican order, built in the Gothic style. In the next chapter room of the Seminary, forty portraits of dignitaries of the Dominican Order (1352), works of Tommaso da Modena, are on display.
- 4 Church of San Francesco Via San Francesco – The church was built at the beginning of the 18th century, a good example of Romanesque architecture. Its interior preserves the tombs of the son of Dante Alighieri and the young daughter of Francesco Petrarch
- 5 Sainte-Catherine Church (S. Caterina dei Servi di Maria) – Deconsecrated church whose former convent is today one of the three headquarters of the Musée de la Citè. Remarkable the frescoes which tell the life of Saint Ursula, work of the painter Tommaso da Modena and the frescoes on the vault of the Chapel of the Innocents by the same author.
