Ulrichstein is a country town in the north Vogelsberg, which is allowed to use the title "state-approved resort". Due to the altitude of almost 600 m, Ulrichstein offers beautiful views of the country.

The next station "Mücke (Hess)" on the Gießen railway line - Alsfeld - Fulda is 15 km away, alternatively the 22 km distant train station "Lauterbach (Hess) Nord" offers itself.

From May 1st to the end of October, recreational buses with bicycle transport run from Mücke to the weekend Hoherodskopf.

- Schlossberg with castle ruins - From the 614 m high Schlossberg there are beautiful views of the country (especially to the west and north). Since 2004/2005 it has been possible to climb a former defensive tower that has been rebuilt into a small observation tower. On the mountain is also the 6 hectare Vogelsberggarten. These freely accessible Park, in which the castle ruins are also located, consists of different areas such as the cottage garden, herb garden and golden oat meadow.

- Wind energy educational trail in the municipal wind farm - The city of Ulrichstein was one of the first cities in the region to recognize that you can earn money as a wind farm operator. This is of course also due to the good wind conditions in the city area. The educational trail provides information on the subject of wind energy. The path can be found about 3.5 km north of the city center on the country road to Stumpertenrod (parking lot on the road, Location info).
