Ustroń

Ustroń(German: Ustron) is a winter sports and health resort in the voivodeship Silesia in the Silesian Beskids at the top Vistula. Its location makes it next Wisła, Szczyrk and Bielsko-Biała to the main center of tourism in the western Beskydy Mountains. The city offers opportunities for winter sports and is the starting point for hikes in the Silesian Beskids. The begins / ends here Beskydy main hiking trail, the longest Polish long-distance hiking trail.

The place lies in the historical Duchy of Cieszyn-Silesia, which after the collapse Poland emerged in partial principalities in the 12th century. The place was first mentioned in 1305. The inhabitants were shepherds and mountain farmers who mined ore and processed it in forges. Tourism began to develop in the early 19th century. After the First World War, Ustroń came to the Second Polish Republic.
