Geographical notes
It develops from west to east following the course of the Vomano river which rises in the Apennines between the Monti della Laga and the Gran Sasso d'Italia and then flows into the Adriatic sea near Roseto degli Abruzzi.

- Atri - The city boasts a remarkable historical center and an urban and architectural wealth of primary importance, so much so that it can be counted among the art cities of the Region. Among the many artistic treasures, a thorough visit to the Cathedral is unmissable.
- Vomano Guard - The town, small and with a pleasant ancient structure, is known above all for the church of San Clemente al Vomano.
- Montorio al Vomano
- Morro d'Oro - Its tourist flagship is certainly the complex of the church and convent of Santa Maria di Propezzano.

- Abbey of Santa Maria di Propezzano (to Morro d'Oro). Place of an ancient Marian apparition in 715, a Benedictine convent developed there which was a pilgrimage center for several centuries. The original Romanesque structure underwent alterations and extensions in the fourteenth century; the convent shows rooms and frescoes up to the sixteenth century.
- Church of San Clemente al Vomano (to Vomano Guard). Its original nucleus dates back to the 9th century; its current appearance is that of the remakes of the millennium. With the adjoining Benedictine convent it constituted one of the numerous Benedictine settlements in the Valley. The church has valuable fourteenth-century frescoes and a ciborium of exquisite workmanship which is an important testimony of sculptural art in Abruzzo.
